Now the man has turned himself in to police.

After a woman was struck and killed by a train in Boston's Downton Crossing station late Thursday, the man captured by surveillance cameras above apparently took advantage of the situation, sliding his foot over the deceased woman's phone, the Daily Mail reported.

According to police, the woman's phone flew out of her purse as she was struck.

"Ninety-nine percent of all of the other people were concerned about what happened, running to the end of the train to see if they could help," said Lt. Richard Sullivan told Boston Globe. "This gentleman had a different idea."

As surveillance video shows, the man looks around before bending to pick up and pocket the deceased woman's phone.
