Protester's Defy Mayor de Blasio's Call for Pause on Demonstrations, Compare NYPD to KKK in Chants
December 23, 2014
"NYPD, KKK, how many kids did you kill today?"
Protesters in New York City defied Mayor Bill de Blasio's call for a temporary moratorium on protests Tuesday, comparing the NYPD to the Ku Klux Klan in chants.
"NYPD, KKK, how many kids did you kill today?" protesters chanted, according to a BuzzFeed reporter on the ground.
"Stop racist police terror," another sign read.
A flier handed out to demonstrators further issued a response to de Blasio who called for protests to come to a temporary halt after two NYPD officers were slain Saturday.
"Hell no!" the flier read.
According to tweets from reporters on the ground, at least 100 individuals were participating in the protest.
