It May Be Time for a Third Party': Blaze Readers React to Report About John Boehner Taking Revenge on Those Who Crossed Him

"We should protest & boo Boehner every time he shows his orange face in America."

TheBlaze posted a story earlier this week about House Speaker John Boehner reportedly taking revenge on Republican colleagues who didn't vote for him for Speaker after the new Congress convened in early January.

A total of 25 Republicans voted against Boehner, which was more than twice the number of GOP members who didn't vote for him two years ago.

According to Politico, Boehner will strip Florida Reps. Daniel Wesbter and Richard Nugent of their positions on the House Rules Committee. Webster ran against Boehner for Speaker with the support of Nugent.

Here's what some readers of TheBlaze had to say about Boehner's reported plans:

Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra

He will stand up to his own party, but can’t stand up against the Democrats? Maybe he needs to borrow Pelosi’s balls for a while.

Buddynoel

This is proof that the votes against him were merited and the GOP now is being controlled by a very weak House Speaker. Leadership involves integrity and the ability to lead. It’s gonna be a long two years.

ALL4FREEDOM

The 25 who stood against him should band together as a caucus to work openly and actively for the constitutional agenda (pick, say, 5 principles) and against any of Boehner’s unprincipled activities. Rat him out at each sneaky maneuver. They should do so loudly and publicly on both C-Span and social media to rally the public. And we should help them make any progressive presidential candidate’s life a hell on earth wherever the appear. If the caucus develops into a third party...oh well.

Cosmos102

Boehner isn’t punishing “his” party. He doesn’t consider those House members who align with the Tea Party friends. Democrats, yes. Tea Party, no. Americans who want real conservatism in government are his enemies.

Boehner needs to be watched. It may be time for a third party.

Boehner is a quisling for the left. That is abundantly clear now for anyone to see. He has betrayed everything conservatives stand for.

Dadzrites

Every time a vote comes up, the 25 conservatives who voted against Boehner should withhold their votes and force Boehner to negotiate with them, or the 25 should abstain from voting on any Boehner legislation not in line with their constituents’ wishes.

These transferred/fired members should wear this as a badge of honor…knowing full well that they were doing what their voters wanted.

So, Mr. Democrat Light is also a thug. That figures.

Conservative demands win the election, and we are stuck with three progressives in the top-three positions in our government.

sdeciant

This revenge play sickens me. It’s not necessary and just shows the character of Boehner.

I hope TheBlaze and other media show exactly what Boehner will do to these Representatives — and just as importantly, who was rewarded for rolling over. Believe me, what comes out of the House over the next two years will make our blood boil, but we must reward those who stood up to Boehner and punish those who did not...otherwise, what did these brave men risk their careers for?

BLACKDIAMONDSKIER

John Boehner and the Republicans are not punishing the individual representatives themselves. They are punishing the people whom those House members represent. This is exactly what the Founders warned against. I hate to say it but the GOP has fallen by the allure of power. Remember Obama’s “we’re going to punish our enemies" quote? Well, apparently the GOP rolls with the same philosophy. It’s no different than using the IRS to target enemies of the administration. It’s up to the people to secure a little humility in these tyrants.

Dear MR. BOEHNER,

I noticed that while you were being sworn in as Speaker that your right hand was raised and your left hand was on, it appears to be, the BIBLE. How can one put his hand on the BIBLE and yet have his heart set on REVENGE...unless of course he’s a HYPOCRITE? How can one put his hand on the BIBLE and not offer FORGIVENESS even when he feels he was offended…unless of course he’s a HYPOCRITE? How can one put his hand on the BIBLE and not “TURN-THE-OTHER-CHEEK” when one is wronged...unless of course he’s a HYPOCRITE? As Speaker since 2011, I wish you would’ve used the same backbone, the same fervor in fighting against those who threaten our Constitution and God-given rights as a nation as you do against your own party. IF this were the case then I would venture to say that approximately 60% of Republican voters — you know, "WE THE PEOPLE" — and the 25 PATRIOTS of the Republican House that voted for a change in leadership may not have felt that the change in your leadership was needed. All we want is a very aggressive fight against those who would threaten our U.S. CONSTITUTION and GOD-GIVEN RIGHTS. You, Mr. Speaker, HAVE NOT done so! The past election, in November 2014, was to be the voice of, “WE THE PEOPLE….” to not work with, BUT STOP, the “Obama-Agenda”! With your past record it appears to me that you are more concerned about PRESERVING YOUR POWER, to be “Mr. Speaker, than you are of PRESERVING OUR U.S. CONSTITUTION! Prove us wrong! PLEASE!

On Nov. 4 we voted in the largest Republican majority since 1929 with the purpose of stopping the Obama agenda. Boehner has handed Obama victory on a silver platter in spite of the desires of the voters. Is anybody else feeling a little betrayed & disenfranchised? We should protest & boo Boehner every time he shows his orange face in America. He needs to know he is hated right up there with the Obamas, Pelosis and Reeds. Voting accomplished nothing. Put your damned boots on Americans!

Boehner reminds me of a child throwing a tantrum because he got his feelings hurt. What a bully!
