Man Reportedly Told Victim, 'I'm Going to Kill You White Boy' Before Slitting His Throat on NYC Street

Police in New York City are investigating a possible hate crime after an unidentified male suspect slit another man’s throat with a razor, CBS New York reported.

The 24-year-old victim was walking down the street with his girlfriend, an assailant ran up to him and screamed, “I’m going to kill you white boy” in Spanish, according to the New York Police Department.

The victim reportedly did not know his attacker.

Police said the suspect then slit the man’s throat and fled the scene.

The victim received multiple stitches on the gash to his throat but is expected to survive. The man’s family told CBS New York that it’s painful for him to talk because the cut is so deep.

Police were still looking for the assailant on Friday. Gothamist reported the suspect is described by police as “being 25-30 years old and approximately 5'8" with a medium build.”
