A Newborn Is Once Again Used as Prop for Islamic State Propaganda Pic. Guess What Job the Father Used to Have.

“This is my son.”

It’s not the first time we’ve seen a baby posed by jihadist militants on a bed surrounded by ammunition and guns, but the image never ceases to shock.

The latest in the Islamic State group’s photographic oeuvre reportedly comes from an Arab Israeli, a former teacher, who left his home in Israel along with his wife to head to Iraq where they are said to have joined the notorious rebel group.

Salah a-Din Mahmeed, 25, on Friday posted photos of himself in Islamic State fatigues while he aimed his machine gun, but the most eye-popping photo he displayed was of his newborn son in baby fatigues surrounded by guns and ammunition magazines, Israeli media reported.

“This is my son,” was the caption attached to the photo.

The Israeli news site Nana reported that Mahmeed expressed pride that he and his family had joined the group.

He told his friends that he and his wife – a Jewish convert to Islam –  first lived in Iraq for a month where their son was born after which they moved to Syria.

Mahmeed studied Shariah law in Jordan and was a religion teacher for a short while in Israel, Nana reported.

The jihadist militant was arrested in Israel last fall on suspicion of ties with the extremist group after Islamic State flags and literature were found in his home.

At the time, he was sentenced to house arrest for five days after which he was released.

A photo of a newborn surrounded by a gun, hand grenade and Islamic State birth certificate circulated online last week.

A similar image was posted on social media in September showing another infant posed next to jihadist paraphernalia, the Islamic State’s black flag, grenades and automatic weapons.

TheBlaze is unable to independently confirm the authenticity of this latest photo.
