When the PA Announcer Said the National Anthem Wouldn't Be Played, This Texas Softball Crowd Refused to Let That Happen

"No!"

It's a time-honored tradition, and you can bet in Texas nothing is going to stop it. Even technical difficulties.

Right before a girls playoff softball game between Katy and Brazoswood on Saturday, the players lined up to sing the National Anthem. The crowd was ready. But there was just one problem: the song never played. After a short delay, the PA announcer called it: "Due to technical difficulties, we will not be playing the national anthem. Let's play ball."

Immediately, cries of "No!" shot up from the crowd. That's when the spectators took matters into their own hands, or voices, and started belting out the ode to Old Glory.

As KTRK-TV notes, and as video shows, the players resumed their stand to attention and joined in:
