This incident, which happened Wednesday in Orange County, Florida, is one of up to 30 that Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Kim Montes told WKMG-TV happen each day in the region.

"Unfortunately, this is what we're seeing in central Florida, where people disregard others' lives and even after they hit them, they're not stopping to render help," Montes told the news station.

In this case, the dashcam footage showed a blue car turning right into a parking lot, clipping the cyclist while doing so. According to WKMG, the cyclist was well enough afterward that he declined medical treatment, but authorities are still on the hunt for the driver who left him. The video taken by the good Samaritan was enhanced to reveal the driver's license plate number.

Local cyclist Kyle Williford told WESH-TV that this person was "clearly in [the driver's] line of sight" and said "there's no excuse for that."

"If you are involved in a crash, you are required to stop immediately and render care," Montes told WKMG. "Not call your lawyer, not call your mother, not call your father, you check on that person that's been involved in that crash."

According to FHP's website, one in four crashes in Florida was a hit-and-run in 2014.
