Wild Robbery Involving Dozens of Teens Caught on Camera

"They just stole a bunch of stuff and are trashing the gas station right now."

A "mob and rob" at an Ohio convenience store involving dozens of teenagers was caught on camera early Sunday.

The incident took place in Akron around 12:30 a.m. A couple had just pulled into the parking lot and were pumping gas when they saw the huge crowd of teens come out of nowhere and overtake the store, WEWS-TV reported.

The couple called 911 as they watched the scene unfold. In a video posted to Facebook afterward, the woman can be heard describing what happened.

"There are probably about 40 kids who just ran in and started grabbing stuff and are running around in the parking lot like wild children. I don't know where they came from. They stole a bunch of candy. They just stole a bunch of stuff and are trashing the gas station right now," she said.

The kids got away with about $200 worth of chips and candy. The whole thing went down in about 10 minutes, according to the manager who was not named.

Cops who responded to the incident took pictures of some of the teens. Akron Police spokesman Lt. Rick Edwards said officers will try to match the photos up with store surveillance video once they obtain it.

Edwards said it appears that the teenagers came from a party, the Akron Beacon Journal reported.
