See Incredible Reaction That Occurs After Milk, Food Coloring and Dish Soap Are Mixed Together
August 24, 2015
Here's a cool science experiment that you can complete at home.
Fill a bowl with some whole milk. Then take some food coloring and sprinkle a few drops into the bowl. Finally, place some dish soap onto the tip of a Q-tip.
Take the Q-tip and place it on the food coloring and take a look at the reaction. The dish soap should send the food coloring screaming in all different directions.
The reaction occurs because dish soap is designed to break down fat. Since fat is found in whole milk, the dish soap tries to break down the fat causing the milk to scatter and send the food coloring going in different directions.
