A Year Ago, TheBlaze Editor-in-Chief Delivered This Must-Watch Speech on 9/11 and How He Nearly Killed Mr. Rogers
September 17, 2015
"I almost killed Mr. Rogers. I would still be in jail."
A year ago, TheBlaze editor-in-chief, Scott Baker, delivered a powerful message on heroism and 9/11 on the main stage at the Hero Roundtable Conference in Flint, Michigan.
In his keynote presentation, Baker recounted the day he nearly killed Mr. Rogers, then shared a powerful story of his hunch on, and connection to 9/11 hero, Todd Beamer.
"I'm here to tell your that the stories we tell about heroes, great and small, quiet and bold, are among the greatest gifts we can give each-other," Baker said.
"A year from now you might remember this point or that point ... but you are going to remember the stories," he added.
Baker delivered the remarks at the Hero Roundtable, which is the world's only series of conferences on heroism. In its third year, the conference is taking place again this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 17 and 18, in Brighton, Michigan.
Speakers this year include Chase Masterson who played in Star Trek, David Talbot of the Victims of Communism Memorial Fund, Dan Edwardes, founder of Parkour Generations, legendary comic creator Len Wein and others.
