A video showing a "super-charged" volcanic ash cloud "sparked with lightning" in Patagonia has gone mega-viral this week, amassing more than 24 million views in the 48 hours it has been online.
The incredible footage was published to Facebook Monday by BBC Earth and is from a special Patagonia series from the network. It was shot by the BBC Natural History Unit and Chilean cinematographer, Christian Muñoz-Donoso.
"Be amazed," the BBC teased when posting the clip online.
Viewers clearly were.
Despite the clip lacking sound, it has been widely circulated on the Internet, shared nearly 400,000 times from just the BBC Earth's Facebook page alone.
"Wow, that is amazing," commented one person on the video.
"What a show!" echoed another.
