A Texas Walmart employee has resigned after posting cellphone video of him and another employee confronting a female alleged shoplifter, along with that woman's parking-lot fight with another customer — all of which has prompted a store investigation.

Former employee Mike Barnes posted the clip to his Facebook page last week, accompanied by the line, "I sent this to world star [hiphop] it might make it." In the clip, he was heard providing what amounts to play-by-play commentary.
"This is how you catch a thief in the act," Barnes said as he and the other employee observed the alleged shoplifter at a self-service checkout line.

They followed the barefoot woman to the lobby where they confronted her and took a bag from her. "Have fun," Barnes said. "Have a good day."

When another employee asked the alleged shoplifter for a receipt, the woman was seen trying to break away before finally heading out the door.

"You're lucky I'm on the clock, I ain't got time for them games!" Barnes was heard saying as the woman exited the Arlington store.
Outside, the alleged shoplifter and another woman were seen squaring off before coming to blows — all of which Barnes recorded.

It's not clear why they were fighting or if they knew each other.

At the end of the video, Barnes was seen pointing his cellphone camera at his own face and saying, "Yup, and I let it happen on Walmart clock."

Walmart issued a statement to KTVT-TV. “This type of behavior by a Walmart associate is completely unacceptable. We are conducting an internal investigation into this matter at this time and will take action as appropriate,” Brian Nick, director of Walmart National Media Relations, said.
Later, Barnes spoke with a KDFW-TV reporter about his now-viral Facebook video, which has garnered over 235,000 views as of Friday.
“People just like videos,” Barnes told the station. “It's a new generation. You know, the media’s what’s going on. That's why I posted it. I was like, ‘You know, a lot of things go on; might as well show what's going on in Arlington.’”

Police weren't called about the alleged shoplifting or the fight, KDFW said.
"They didn't think it was bad enough,” Barnes told the station. “She got back up, she got in her car and then when I turned back around, everybody was cleaned up. You know, I walked away from the whole fight. Right when I turned back around it seemed like everybody was gone, like nothing ever happened.”
While Barnes told KDFW on Thursday that he resigned from Walmart, he noted on Facebook, "I got a new job makin 13.50 I left Walmart like 3 days ago."
