Have Never Seen a Run Like This': Watch What Might Be One of the Craziest Plays to Unfold in Playoff Baseball
October 14, 2015
Wow.
An absolutely bizarre play in game five of the American League Division Series between the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays led to a run being scored.
The Rangers took a temporary 3-2 lead over the Blue Jays in the top of the seventh inning when a throw by catcher Russell Martin bounced off the bat of Shin-Soo Choo and led to the live baseball rolling toward the third basemen.
While the fluke play unfolded, Rougned Odor sprinted home and managed to score.
The play was reviewed but ultimately upheld.
Steve Silva, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who posted a vine of the play, couldn't believe how the play unfolded.
"Have never seen a run like this," he wrote online.
