If Ted Cruz Gains More Traction, Donald Trump Says He'll Have to Do This: 'We'll See What Happens
November 16, 2015
"If he catches on..."
Real estate tycoon Donald Trump said Monday that if 2016 Republican presidential rival Ted Cruz continues to surge in the polls, he'll have no choice but to "go to war" with him.
"We'll see what happens," Trump told CNBC. "[But] if he catches on, I guess we'll have to go to war."
"So far we haven't," the billionaire continued. "We've been very supportive. We have a lot of the same ideas."
In recent polls, Cruz has seen his numbers increase. In the last debate, the Texas senator also received the most talking time.
The two GOP candidates have been very friendly throughout the 2016 cycle and even appeared together at a rally in front of the U.S. Capitol aimed at stopping the Iran deal.
