Radio Host Asks Sen. Thune for Probability of Open GOP Convention. He Gets This Answer in Return

"So that's a probability of what?"

Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) raised the possibility of an open Republican convention during an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt Wednesday.

"I never thought I'd see an open convention ... what do you put the odds of that at?" Hewitt asked.

Thune replied by saying that he usually says there is "no way" it could ever occur, but added, "If it ever could happen, this could be the year."

Hewitt pressed him for specifics.

"So that's a probability of what? 10 percent? 15 percent?" he asked.

"Yeah, yeah — maybe better," Thune replied.
