Mizzou Star Quarterback Suspended for Third Time in Four Months After Video Purports to Show Him Snorting White Powdery Substance

University of Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk has been suspended for the third time in four months after a video was posted to social media Monday night allegedly showing him snorting a line of white powder off a table.

"Matty Mauk missing the line, just like he misses his receivers," a tweet, containing the video, reads.

The person in the video appears to snort some of the powder but leave most of it on the table. He then stands up while rubbing his nose and screams as the nine-second video ends.

While university officials say they can't be sure at this point if the person seen in the video snorting the powder is actually the school's star quarterback, Mizzou Athletic Director Mack Rhoades and football coach Barry Odom said they have suspended Mauk indefinitely until they can find out more, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

"This is an issue we take very seriously and one that will not be tolerated within our program," Rhoades and Odom said in a joint statement. "We will take appropriate action once we have all the facts."

This is the third time in just four months that Mauk has been suspended from the team.

He was suspended in late September for undisclosed reasons, according to the Post-Dispatch, but later reinstated. It was only a few days later in November that Mauk was suspended a second time for the rest of the season.

Gary Pinkel, who was the coach at the time, wouldn't comment on why the disciplinary action was taken.
