Driver Gets 'Pulled Over' for Allegedly Going Up to 90 mph — but It's the Cop Who Is Forced to Do the Explaining

Claudia Castillo was driving on the Palmetto Expressway in Miami when she says a local cop car sped past her. Castillo claims the Miami-Dade cop car was going well over 80 mph.

Unhappy about the police officer allegedly speeding for no apparent reason, she decided to give chase and use her cellphone to record her attempt to pull over a cop.

Flashing her lights and honking her horn behind the police cruiser, Castillo eventually managed to get the cop's attention and he pulled off the road to speak with her.

On the side of the highway, Castillo spoke to the officer, recording their encounter.

In what felt like a role reversal, Castillo opened the conversation sounding like a police officer addressing a speeding motorist.

“The reason I pulled you over today is because I saw you, since Miller Drive when you were first jumping onto the Palmetto, and you were pushing 90 miles an hour,” Castillo said.

The officer was calm, responding to Castillo with a line you might expect to hear from someone trying to talk his or her way out of a speeding ticket. “Um, I don’t know how fast I was going,” the officer said. “But I can tell you this: I’m on my way to work right now. I don’t believe I was speeding.”

In the end, the unidentified officer apologized for speeding and promised Castillo, "I'll be sure to slow down, ma'am."
