A Win-Win': In New Video, Members of the National Abortion Federation Discuss 'Group Purchasing Program

The Center for Medical Progress has released new footage of a conversation actors portraying buyers from a human biologics company had with representatives of the National Abortion Federation.

The Center for Medical Progress has released new undercover footage of a conversation that actors portraying buyers from faux a human biologics company had with representatives of the National Abortion Federation.

NAF is a professional association for abortion providers that describes Planned Parenthood as “partners” in their mission.

When an actor tells Sandy Fulkerson, training and education coordinator for NAF, that she is looking for “tissue,” Fulkerson replies, “We know where it’s available, right?”

“We do donate the fees that we get from our researchers, we give a portion back to the clinics as just a thank you for letting us come in,” the actor says. Then, Fulkerson replies, "Yeah, it definitely sounds like something some our members would be really interested in."

Jennifer Hart, the director of training and education at the National Abortion Federation, also calls the arrangement “a win-win” for abortion clinics in the heavily edited, undercover clip.

“We have an exhibit hall and then we also have the general conference. But I mean, this is a very great way to talk to our members. We have a group purchasing program through our membership,” Fulkerson said. “So it seems like this would be a really great option to be able to offer our members as well.”

NAF has taken legal action to try to bar the Center for Medical Progress from releasing any footage they obtained of the organization’s annual meetings in 2014 and 2015.

“From the very first moment the National Abortion Federation met purported baby parts traffickers in our investigative journalism study, NAF was eager for them to attend its meetings and pay its member clinics for fetal body parts,” David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress, said in a statement. “Multiple Planned Parenthood executives and the leadership of StemExpress told our investigators many times that NAF was a key partner for fetal tissue harvesting."

He continued, "The fact is, the National Abortion Federation is a key accomplice in Planned Parenthood and StemExpress’ scheme to profit off baby body parts, and for this reason they are desperate to suppress the freedom of the citizen press and cover up the evidence of their illicit dealings."
