Watch Elderly Dog's Reaction When Soldier Finally Comes Home

Hannah Foraker returned home for Christmas after completing three months of Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Still in Oklahoma.

The 21-year-old's two-week vacation was made memorable by a reunion with her elderly dog, Buddy.

Judging by his frantic whimpering, the 13-year-old lab had been eagerly awaiting her owner's arrival.

"We opened the front door and she came running out and greeted me and my family, but then kind of did a double take and came back to me,” Foraker, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, told BuzzFeed. "She was completely overwhelmed, and she couldn’t even stand up."

Foraker posted a video of the emotional reunion to YouTube late last month.

Buddy, who is nearly deaf and suffers from arthritis, cries happy tears and rubs up against Foraker's lap and licks her face.

“It was amazing,” Foraker said. “I wish I could do it again.”
