ATF Investigating Explosion Outside Home of Indiana Superior Court Judge — Just Weeks After Another Explosion

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating an explosion that occurred outside the home of an Indiana Superior Court judge.

Details were scarce on Friday, but the federal agency said an active investigation is underway and evidence was being examined at the scene by officials and a K9 unit.

The Madison Police Department is also helping in the investigation. The department reported another explosion earlier this month:

On Wednesday, March 16, 2016, the Madison Police Department responded to a report of evidence of an explosion in the 100 block of Cherry Trace. Officers from the Madison Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.

It was determined that an explosive device was detonated in the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of Cherry Trace. The Indiana State Police Explosive Ordinance.

Destruction (EOD) team was contacted. The ISP EOD team assisted with evidence collection.
