Watch: Democratic Senator's Odd Use of Dead Disco 'Diva's' Lyrics to Introduce Hillary Clinton

"We're gonna channel Donna Summer here for a minute."

Monday's rally for Hillary Clinton in Wilmington, Delaware, featured a curious, 10-minute, wandering speech from Sen. Tom Carpe (D-Del.). The address started by Carper invoking the lyrics from the late Donna Summer's hit, "She Works Hard for the Money" in an effort to ramp up the crowd.

After quoting Summer's song, Carper did pepper his presentation with several mentions of Clinton's experience adding, "She'll make us very very proud," he told the crowd.

The Delaware senator also talked about his appreciation for mashing up the names Joe Biden and Barack Obama to create "Joe-Bama," asking the audience to repeat it with him -- and they obliged.

Carper also spoke of Donald Trump's use of private jets and helicopters to get to campaign rallies and closed his presentation with a story about how impressed he was by the clean bathrooms at the recent auto show in Detroit.

Watch Carper attempt to whip up the crowd using the lyrics from a Donna Summer hit from 1983:
