‘Donald, Listen to Yourself Right Now’: Trump Gets Testy With ‘Morning Joe’ Anchor Over ‘Trigger Happy’ Charge

"The mindset of a weak Hillary Clinton, which is four more years of Obama, is not going to do it for our country, Mika."

GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump covered a broad range of topics during a nearly 19-minute interview on MSNBC's Morning Joe, and also took exception to comments made about him a day earlier by former DoD Secretary Bob Gates.

As co-host Mika Brzezinski was calling Gates "one of the greatest foreign policy minds in history," Trump interrupted her.

"Oh really?" he interjected. "Because we're doing so well? You think we're doing well with his foreign policy, Mika?"

Brzezinski glared at the camera and brought up the term "trigger happy," saying there are "some concerns" with Trump's words, like those he used in a tweet about the then-missing EgyptAir plane.

Talking about the tweet, Brzezinski said, "some might say it was very much generating hatred ... focusing on the hatred and fear."

Trump interrupted again and strongly disagreed — and that prompted the MSNBC host to say, "Donald, listen to yourself right now."

The candidate replied, "The mindset of a weak Hillary Clinton, which is four more years of Obama, is not going to do it for our country, Mika."
