CNN Host Chastises Trump Adviser on Candidate's Fundraising: 'Don’t Come on and Be Smug and Cute and Try to Lie to Me\
“Come on Stephen."
After CNN host Don Lemon read a quote by a pro-Trump Super PAC strategist that campaign fundraising for the the presumptive Republican presidential candidate was not going well, he asked senior Trump advisor Stephen Miller for his take on it.
But Miller, appearing on Lemon's program Tuesday night, was evasive — and even lobbed over some sarcasm, saying "someone watching CNN all day could get the wrong impression."

Lemon, however, wasn't having it.
"Come on, Stephen. Don’t come on and be smug and cute and try to lie to me,” Lemon told Miller. “There is a problem raising money, and you’re coming on and saying, 'Everything is hunky-dory.'"
While Miller changed his tune and noted his “endless respect” for Lemon and his network, he still wouldn't directly address reports that Trump's campaign funds are tens of millions of dollars behind presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's.
“I don’t work in fundraising," Miller said, "so I’m not gonna have the exact numbers to share with you.”
