Check Out Video of Potato Gun Firing at 20,000 Frames Per Second — at Night: 'Was That Cool or What?\

"Just pure, awesome footage."

From the folks at "Smarter Every Day," here's an episode featuring some potato gun experiments — with a transparent model videotaped at night.

The clip gives the lowdown on the combustion science and all — fuel and oxygen mixtures, "sidewall cooling," venting, etc. — but the best parts (obviously) are when our host shows the potato gun firing in slow motion courtesy of his high-speed camera: "Just pure, awesome footage."

That and his high-pitched cackle after every shot.

"Was that cool or what?" he asked. (A number of people seem to agree — after just two days, the video has been viewed more than 1.2 million times.)

And don't miss his awesome chat at the end with an older neighbor who encouraged all the fun: "It's your property, you do what you want to on it!"
