Republican Pollster Frank Luntz Makes Huge Prediction About Trump After GOP Convention

"Mark my words."

As Donald Trump wrapped up the GOP Convention Thursday night by accepting the Republican Party's nomination for president, pollster Frank Luntz offered one huge prediction.

While many suggested Trump's speech was overly negative and maybe hurtful, Luntz said the address could be enough to catapult the billionaire businessman beyond his opponent Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

"Mark my words," the Republican pollster tweeted. "This speech will put Trump even or ahead of Hillary in polls by Monday, when the Democratic convention begins."

According to an instant poll conducted by CNN/ORC, 57 percent of voters who watched Trump's speech had a "very positive" reaction, while 18 percent said their reaction was "somewhat positive" and 24 percent said the address had a "negative effect."

Additionally, 73 percent of voters who watched the speech — most of whom are likely Republican — said the policies the GOP nominee proposed will send the U.S. in the "right direction" and only 24 percent said his proposals will push the nation in the "wrong direction." At the same time, 32 percent said the speech didn't have much effect and 10 percent said they are now less likely to vote for Trump in November.
