Voters discover glaring error on thousands of early voting ballots in Arizona
October 19, 2016
Oops.
An Arizona county sent out thousands of early voting ballots with a "return by" date that is well after the Nov. 8 election.
Yavapai County mailed at least 2,500 ballots informing early voters that the ballots must be returned by Nov. 18 — a full 10 days after the country elects a new president. KPNX-TV reported.
@brahmresnik Ok. Two different return dates. Same County. If undeliverable, they should ALL have same date (election date). Answer? pic.twitter.com/Ws5V1fyefu

The county sent out roughly 100,000 early voting ballots in all. Yavapai County election recorder Leslie Hoffman said office staff just overlooked the incorrect date. Letters are now being sent out to those who received the 2,500 ballots to inform them of the incorrect date.
