Police investigating mother who throws out young son for 'voting' for Trump at school

Police in Houston, Texas, are investigating a mother after she was seen in a video yelling at her 7-year-old son for voting for President-elect Donald Trump at his school's mock election.

In the video, the mother is heard yelling at her son while she attempts to throw him out of their house because of his vote. She even packed the boy's suitcase and gave him a sign to hold, which presumably let people know he supported the president-elect.

The mom told her son:

Since you voted for Donald Trump, you can get your s**t and get out. Uh uh. The suitcase is packed by the door. Yeah, been packed since 10 this morning. Bye. Matter of fact, get your sign — so when the people see you outside, they know why you're standing out there. Here you go, nah, here — take the sign!

As the boy began to cry inconsolably, she continues to scream at him and forces him out of the house.

"Go, we don't do Donald Trump around here," the mom said. "Get your suitcase. Bye."

The mom then closes the door on her son. Once the boy stopped at the end of the driveway, she chases him off the property and down the street.

According to KHOU-TV, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office and Child Protective Services are investigating the incident and the mother, who says she thought she was just making a joke.

However, despite how disturbing the video might seem, investigators said there is no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.

Still, for the mother the damage is done. Her video was viewed more than 10 million times and even prompted her to delete her Facebook page.

"I can't believe a mother would go against her son like that and put her kid through that much trauma," neighbor Mike Terry told KHOU. "That's awful."
