South African man's sex accident has a certain 'ring' to it

A South African man was recently hospitalized after he got his wedding ring stuck on his penis.

According to the South African Medical Journal, a 28-year-old man was brought to the hospital by his mother in Limpopo after complaining of severe pain.

The Journal wrote that doctors determined that the man had put his ring on his genitals “for erotic reasons” and that his penis was “swollen and blue.”

Doctors were able to successfully remove the ring by draining excess blood from the impacted area with a syringe. He spent three days recovering from the incident before he was discharged.

The Journal wrote that “no proper guidelines exist” for the treatment of “penile strangulation,” so doctors should decide what the “best method’ is to ensure a “successful outcome.”
