Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) had one of the best responses to obnoxious hecklers — while remaining ever polite — when he was accosted by left-wing protesters at Corning University in New York.
As former Republican presidential hopeful was expounding on what political message is reaching voters today, loud and angry voices began yelling, eventually joining in that well-known left-wing chorus of "Shame! Shame! Shame!" in an attempt to shout him down and keep him from continuing.
Santorum waited for an opening and responded: "Now, I suspect that all of the people who just stood will walk around this campus and talk about tolerance, and all of them will tell you you have to celebrate what? Diversity. Celebrate diversity, preach tolerance, but when it comes to anybody who disagrees with them, there is no tolerance!"
Enthusiastic applause burst forth from the audience in support of Santorum's effective retort.

Other exchanges were captured and posted on Twitter from attendees who were fed up with the abject intolerance of the close-minded leftists:
This is the atmosphere that conservatives have come to expect on many campuses: Mobs of left-wing agitators so immune to free thinking feel they must shut down opposing voices rather than engage with them.
