Attorney General Jeff Sessions will hold a news conference at 4 p.m. ET Thursday to address allegations related to his contacts with the Russian ambassador during the RNC, and allegations that Sessions did not accurately answer questions during his confirmation hearings about those contacts. Sessions came under fire on Tuesday following accusations that he purposely misled Congress and perjured himself by not disclosing his meetings with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the 2016 presidential election. Justice Department staff have conceded that the contacts occurred, but have denied that they were in any way improper or that Sessions misled Congress.
