Envelope with white powder sent to Trump Jr. had a note inside - here's what it said
February 13, 2018
Authorities say that the envelope with a suspicious powder that was sent to Donald Trump Jr. and caused his wife and two others to be hospitalized also contained an angry note inside.
Here's what the note said:
"You are an awful, awful person," the note read. "I am surprised that your father lets you speak on TV."
"You the family idiot," it continued. "Eric looks smart. This is the reason why people hate you. You are getting what you deserve. So shut the f*** up.”
The envelope was later determined to contain corn starch, but Vanessa Trump, Donald Trump Jr.'s wife, and two other people were sent to a hospital as a safety precaution.
Trump Jr. tweeted about the incident from his social media account.
"Thankful that Vanessa & my children are safe and unharmed after the incredibly scary situation that occurred this morning," he posted.
"Truly disgusting that certain individuals choose to express their opposing views with such disturbing behavior," he added.
Here's a news video about the incident:
