President Trump just plucked a former Fox News figure for his administration

ABC News reported Wednesday that President Donald Trump had plucked another official for his administration from the roster at Fox News, albeit a former executive.

Here's who Trump just hired

According to a tweet from John Santucci at ABC News, the president reportedly has chosen former Fox News executive Bill Shine to fill out his communications team.

"JUST IN," he posted, "@ABC News has learned Former Fox News Co-President Bill Shine has accepted a senior White House communications role."

"A formal announcement is likely by the end of the week," he added. "Shine was at the White House today."

John Roberts at Fox News said that Shine's position and title had not been determined yet, but that it would likely be at the deputy chief of staff level.

A fair and balanced cabinet

Trump has gone to the Fox News channel to add personnel to his administration many times in the past. He was added Joe DiGenova and his wife Victoria Toensing to his legal team and then changed his mind, was reportedly considering "The Five" host Kimberly Guilfoyle for White House press secretary (she is now dating his son Donald Trump Jr.).

Trump's national security adviser John Bolton was a contributor at Fox News, State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert and communications adviser Mercedes Schlapp were both frequent guests on the channel.

The 54-year-old Shine had a long tenure at Fox News, and is credited for promoting Sean Hannity, one of the cable channel's most popular hosts.

Hannity returned the favor when it was rumored that Shine was on the chopping block over mishandling of sexual harassment claims at Fox News.

The rumors were confirmed later when Shine resigned from his position. Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly claimed that she was one of the people who complained to Shine about incidences of sexual harassment.

Another former anchor at the cable channel, Eric Bolling, tweeted his approval of the pick, and said that Shine had been a proponent of Trump "from day 1."
