Here's the Trump Cabinet member Democrats are targeting after Pruitt resignation

After Scott Pruitt resigned as the head of the Environmental Protection Agency Thursday, Democrats indicated that they would be targeting another member in President Donald Trump's Cabinet next.

Here's who they're going after

U.S. House Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) took to his social media account and named the next official in the Trump Cabinet that they would be targeting.

"Now that Pruitt has resigned, it's time to look at the alleged insider trading of Wilbur Ross," he tweeted. "We #DrainTheSwamp one corrupt @realDonaldTrump Cabinet official at a time."

Ross is the secretary of commerce and has been accused of allegedly abusing his position in order to enrich himself through insider trading on the stock market.

"We could move faster," Lieu added, "but @SpeakerRyan & House Republicans have failed on their oversight responsibilities."

'Great job gutting it out on Pruitt'

Phillip Reines, a top aide in Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, congratulated the mainstream media for its role in forcing out Pruitt from the EPA.

"Media: great job gutting it out on Pruitt," he tweeted. "Your tenacity exposed the most corrupt cabinet secretary in history. Take the rest of the day to relish your work."

"But first order of business tomorrow is this f***er," he added invectively, referring to Secretary Ross.

Ross was required to divest himself of specific stock holdings as a result of an ethics agreement he made, but filings show that he sold those stocks seven months past the deadline. The Center for Public Integrity says that his holdings increased in value by about $1.2 million.

Ross says it was simply an oversight, and that he sold his stocks as soon as he discovered the discrepancy.

“In December 2017, I discovered that the previously held stock had not been sold. I then promptly sold these shares,” he wrote.

Pruitt was done in at the EPA after numerous scandals pointing to unwise spending of department funds on lavish expenses, despite many conceding that he was performing well in advocating for conservative policies at the department.

President Trump tweeted about the resignation Thursday.

"I have accepted the resignation of Scott Pruitt as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency," he tweeted. "Within the Agency Scott has done an outstanding job, and I will always be thankful to him for this."

"We have made tremendous progress and the future of the EPA is very bright!" the president concluded.
