A group of angry protesters confronted Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) as he left a Kentucky restaurant on Saturday.

The incident came more than a week after protesters confronted McConnell and his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, as they departed Georgetown University. Chao became somewhat of a conservative darling after the confrontation for how she defended her husband, famously remarking: "Leave my husband alone!"

What happened this time?

Video of the incident shows protesters confront McConnell as he left a restaurant with outgoing state representative Jonathan Shell. According to video obtained by The Louisville Courier-Journal, protesters shouted "Abolish ICE" and "Vote you out!"

Protesters were apparently upset over family separations at the border, which has been blamed on the Trump administration.

"Where are the children? Where are the babies, Mitch?" video shows one protester saying. "What are you doing to get the babies back?"

McConnell did not address the protesters. Instead, the video shows McConnell calmly ignoring the protesters before getting into a vehicle and leaving the restaurant. However, as he entered the vehicle, one protester shouted what appeared to be a thinly-veiled threat.

"We know where you live, Mitch. We know where you live," the protester yelled.

The Louisville Democratic-Socialists posted on Twitter that several of the protesters were affiliated with their group. The incident happened the same day a "large" protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement convened in downtown Louisville.

How did McConnell respond?

The Courier-Journal noted that McConnell's office declined comment, but Shell was rather candid about the incident. In comments to the newspaper, he likened the protesters to a "a small group of extremists."

Specifically addressing the "we know where you live" comment, Shell rebuked the remark as a "not-so-subtle threat right out of the Maxine Waters playbook." Shell was referring to comments Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) made last month when she encouraged supporters angry over the Trump administration's immigration policies to publicly harass President Donald Trump's Cabinet to spur change.
