Actor Hill Harper announces US Senate bid, pushes left-wing agenda

Actor Hill Harper has announced a bid for a U.S. Senate bid in the state of Michigan.

Harper, who has played roles on television shows such as "The Good Doctor," "Limitless," "Covert Affairs," and "CSI: NY," has authored several books and owns a coffee shop in Detroit.

The pro-choice figure is promoting climate alarmism and is advocating for universal health care.

"Hill is fighting for a single-payer system that provides universal coverage to all residents, regardless of income, employment status, or pre-existing conditions," his campaign website declares, adding that, "in the wealthiest country in the history of the world, healthcare should be a right, not a privilege."

"Hill has always fought for a woman’s right to choose — and he plans on taking that fight straight to Washington. Now more than ever, we must protect and expand women's reproductive rights. A universal healthcare plan ensures access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare, including contraception, family planning services, and safe, legal, accessible abortion," the campaign site states.

There will not be an incumbent running during Michigan's 2024 U.S. Senate election because Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow, who has served in the Senate for more than two decades, announced in January that she will not seek re-election.

Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan is one of the other people running for the Senate seat.

Harper recently lamented the Supreme Court's ruling against race-based discrimination in college admissions.

"The success of so many, including me, can be attributed to equal access to educational opportunities, many of which are a direct result of affirmative action. The SCOTUS ruling gutting AA overlooks historical & systemic injustices that disadvantaged communities face," Harper tweeted. "It leans on idealistic meritocracy while disregarding societal imbalances; while not honoring the true value of diversity for ALL. AA is an opportunity to ensure diversity, foster inclusivity & redress disparities, lost. We all benefit from inclusion," he added.
