Hilarious security video shows robber awkwardly leave nail salon after would-be victims simply ignore his threats

An attempted robbery was mostly thwarted after employees and customers of a nail salon simply ignored the man threatening to shoot them.

The incident unfolded on Monday afternoon at the Nail1st nail salon on Piedmont Road in Atlanta, Georgia.

The video released by Crime Stoppers shows the man charge into the salon and scream at everyone to hand over money while he holds what appears to be a gun inside a purse at them.

"Everybody get down! Give me your money! Give me your money!" he yelled.

The employees and customers just stared at him and did not comply with his demands. At one point, he confronted a man at a sales counter, but he simply answered the phone and walked away.

One woman got up and tried to leave the salon, and the man was able to grab her cellphone from her.

That was the only item he was able to steal before he lost interest and simply walked away.

Lesa Barrow, a regular customer at the salon, told WAGA-TV that the owner didn't react despite being scared initially because he didn't want to alarm his customers.

"They come first, so that was his reaction, to calm everybody down, keep everybody relaxed," said Barrow.

Police said that people being threatened by criminals should generally follow their commands in order to avoid escalating the situation into violence.

Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta is asking for help from the public to identify the suspect. The site says he fled from the salon in a silver-colored sedan. There is a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
