Biden sits for interview with host who has promoted notorious anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan

President Joe Biden has recently come under fire after he appeared for an interview with a radio host who has previously promoted the hateful rhetoric of notorious anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan.

Radio host Rickey Smiley wished Farrakhan a happy birthday on X in May, writing: "Happy Birthday to the honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, who turned 90 years old today!"

Fox News Digital reported that Jennifer Molina, the White House deputy communications director, posted to X that the president had sat down for three interviews — one of which was with Smiley — that were expected to "reach 14 million Americans nationwide, across 140 markets."

Farrakhan has a history of spewing anti-Semitic rhetoric, such as referring to Jewish people as "termites" and praising Hitler for the atrocities he committed during World War II. Farrakhan, who has been the leader of the Nation of Islam since the 1970s, has become one of the most controversial religious figures in the United States.

Smiley's social media accounts include several posts promoting Farrakhan.

Among the many inflammatory remarks Farrakhan has made throughout his career, he has blamed the Jewish people for the slave trade, Jim Crow laws, and even black oppression as a whole.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, Farrakhan gave a speech at the Watergate Hotel in November 2017, where he endorsed the second volume of an anti-Semitic book called "The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews," which blamed "Jews for promoting a myth of black racial inferiority and makes conspiratorial accusations about Jewish involvement in slave trade and the cotton, textiles, and banking industries."

Farrakhan went on to suggest that the book should be taught in schools across the country.

The organization went on to draw out how Farrakhan has, on more than a few occasions, referred to Jewish people as "satanic."

"In 2018, Farrakhan continued his anti-Semitic commentary in public appearances and on Twitter, where he warned his 335,000 followers about 'the Satanic Jew,'" according to the Anti-Defamation League's website.

"In an October 2018 speech marking the 23rd anniversary of the Million Man March, Farrakhan told his followers, 'When they talk about Farrakhan, call me a hater, you know how they do – call me an anti-Semite. Stop it, I’m anti-termite!'"

Biden's appearance for an interview with a radio host who has supported Farrakhan is especially relevant to the current conflict playing out in the Middle East, where Hamas militants carried out the deadliest attack against Israel in the country's history.

Around 1,200 people were killed and 240 taken hostage during the horrific attack.
