HBO talk show host Bill Maher says that Democrats won't necessarily win the 2020 presidential election — mainly because they are a party that doesn't know how to govern.
What are the details?
In scorching social media posts made on Wednesday night, the "Real Time" host ripped the Democratic Party for its insistence in pushing the failed Robert Mueller testimony as reason to impeach President Donald Trump and more.
"If this Mueller testimony was supposed to be 'the movie,' it's a Terrence Malick movie. Democrats are a political party that does not know how to do politics," Maher wrote on Twitter.
He followed that tweet with one that was even more pointed.
"I can't watch this anymore. Go home, guys," he wrote. "You made OJ try on the glove, and it just didn't work. You can still win the election, but I wouldn't bet my own money on it."
Maher also shared the sentiment on Facebook, where it got a whopping 10,000 likes.
Maher wasn't the only one to weigh in on the Dems' performance.
Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore also blasted the Democratic Party over the Mueller testimony on Wednesday.
In a viral tweet, Moore wrote, "A frail old man, unable to remember things, stumbling, refusing to answer basic questions... I said it in 2017 and Mueller confirmed it today — All you pundits and moderates and lame Dems who told the public to put their faith in the esteemed Robert Mueller — just STFU from now on."
"Trump must be gloating in ecstasy. Not because of the failure that is Robert Mueller — his Report is still a damning document of crimes by Trump — but because Trump understands the power of the visual, and he understands that the Dems aren't street fighters and that's why he'll win," he added.
