Blaze Media is thrilled to announce its acquisition of Return and Align, two exciting new media brands from New Founding. This acquisition comes amid a growing commercial-cultural movement for individuals to lead healthier lives and adds to Blaze Media’s rapid expansion in the digital media industry.
Return, a publication covering the commerce and culture of the tech industry, has created a community promoting healthy habits in the digital age. Similarly, Align is a lifestyle publication that inspires its hundreds of thousands of subscribers to live a better way of life — especially when it comes to the things we buy and the services we use.
“We’re excited to bring these media properties into the Blaze Media content offering and expose them to a broader audience,” said Tyler Cardon, Blaze Media CEO. “We’re also thrilled to welcome to the Blaze Media family the talented people who’ve made Return and Align so dynamic.”
As part of the acquisition, New Founding co-founder Matthew Peterson will become Blaze Media’s editor in chief and integrate the media assets he developed at New Founding for Blaze’s audience. “This acquisition fulfills the vision we had at New Founding for these media properties,” said Peterson. “I look forward to helping Blaze Media expand our content offering for our growing, highly engaged audience.”
Peterson is joined by James Poulos, host of BlazeTV’s “Zero Hour,” who will serve as editor at large and continue as founder and editorial director of Return, along with several other members of the New Founding media team.
"This deal demonstrates a growing recognition of the strategic importance of aligned business and technology for the right," said Nate Fischer, co-founder and CEO of New Founding. "We are pleased to have built these brands and excited to see how they will continue to grow with Blaze, whose broader media capabilities make it a natural long-term home."
New Founding will continue to grow its venture program and business service offerings at the intersection of business and the political moment. New Founding's venture program connects aligned founders and investors in a digital Deal Room and partners with exceptional founders through its Accelerator program. New Founding also offers talent placement and other business services to companies seeking aligned people, partners, and strategic advice.
