Crime-ridden San Francisco to require vaccine proof for 5 to 11-year-olds to enter some settings

San Francisco will eventually require children ages 5 to 11-year-old to show proof of vaccination in order to enter various settings, according San Francisco Health Officer Dr. Susan Philip.

Philip said that, "people have asked me ... what about the local San Francisco health orders that require vaccination to go into a restaurant or to go to a Warriors game, when is that going to apply to children 5 to 11?"

She said that in order to provide time for kids to receive the shots, this would not be the case any sooner than around "eight weeks after the vaccine is available to kids."

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that since August the city has required individuals 12 and above to verify that they are vaccinated in order to venture inside of many public locations.

Philip made the comments on Tuesday, the same day that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that children ages 5 to 11 should receive the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which authorized emergency use of the vaccine for 5 to 11-year-olds, the vaccine dosage that these young kids receive will be lower than the dosage administered to individuals 12 and older.

San Francisco has such a serious crime problem that Walgreens is planning to close multiple stores this month and a Safeway grocery store that once operated 24 hours per day is now only open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m..
