Furious Texas mother catches man molesting her daughter and holds him at gunpoint. Now he's in jail for life.

A Texas mom held a man at gunpoint after catching him molesting her teenage daughter — and just last week, the perpetrator was sentenced to life in prison for his heinous crime.

The incident, according to Newsweek, took place in 2019.

What are the details?

Authorities said that 41-year-old Ivan Alejandro Robles was caught continually sexually abusing a young girl from the time that she was just five years old until she turned 13 in 2019.

He pleaded guilty last week in court and will face a life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole as a result.

Fort Bend County prosecutors said that the mother discovered the abuse and immediately pulled a gun on Robles. She then called 911 and told the dispatcher that police needed to arrive as quickly as possible because she was going to shoot him. The mother held Robles at gunpoint until authorities arrived and took the abuser into custody without incident.

According to reports, Robles would enact "depraved" punishments on the girl if she refused to perform sex acts. The child, who testified against Robles, added that she began contemplating suicide at just 10 years old.

The relationship between Robles and the young girl is unknown at the time of this reporting.

In a statement on the sentencing, District Attorney Jessica Ramos said, "Anyone that listened to the victim's testimony was left emotionally shaken. I asked the victim how she felt after bravely confronting her abuser in court. She said she felt free. You could see the burden lift off her young shoulders. I could not be more proud of her for the courage she displayed during her testimony."

“The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office works tirelessly to protect vulnerable members in our community which most often includes women and children. We zealously and relentlessly pursue justice for victims of abuse. We will seek the harshest punishment for child predators just as we did in this case,” District Attorney Brian Middleton added. “Unfortunately, we cannot undo the harm that was done to this child, but we can ensure she never has to fear that this defendant will ever harm her again. The judge’s imposition of a life sentence was just and a result of a mother’s fierce love for her child, the courage of the child to face the defendant, and the hard work of law enforcement. Justice has indeed been served.”
