Hazmat team responds to letter with white powder sent to home of Donald Trump Jr.

Personnel in hazmat suits were spotted outside of Donald Trump Jr.'s home on Monday after they received a threatening letter with a white powder.

The incident was first reported by the Daily Beast.

The eldest son of former President Donald Trump lives in a mansion in Jupiter, Florida.

"The test results of the substance came up inconclusive on what it was exactly, but officials on the scene do not believe it is deadly," said a spokesman for Trump, according to Axios.

Trump Jr. confirmed the incident in a brief statement made to MxM News.

"This is now the second time a demented leftist has mailed me a death threat with white powder. If this happened twice to a prominent Democrat, there would be hearings in Congress, but since my last name is Trump, the media will move on in a day," he said in the statement reposted from his official social media account.

"The hatred the left has for my family knows no bounds," he concluded.

He made similar comments to the Daily Caller, which obtained photographs of the hazmat response.

“Clearly, if this happened to a prominent Democrat it wouldn’t be tolerated and would drive news coverage for weeks. The media would blame all Republicans and force them to answer for it, But since it’s me, radical haters on the left will largely get a free pass and the media will barely flinch," said Trump Jr.

“It doesn’t matter what your politics are, this type of crap is unacceptable,” he added. “This is actually the second white powder substance envelope that’s been mailed to me. The last time we had this happen, it was during my father’s presidency and my then-wife opened it up with my kids by her side. So, it’s just sad that we live in a society where politics and the left’s hatred of my father would drive people to do such crazy things, but that’s where we are unfortunately."

The envelope included a letter with threats made against the Trump family.

In 2016, a letter with white powder was sent to Eric Trump, the other son of the former president, at his address in Manhattan in New York. There was also a threatening letter included in that incident.
