High-schooler blasts school district for allowing boys in girls’ locker room after video emerges of trans student assaulting female

A California high school student blasted her district for allowing boys in the girls’ locker room and restrooms after a video emerged recently of a biological male transgender student assaulting a female student.

Megan Simpkins, an 18-year-old attending Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, California, addressed the school board last Thursday about a fight that broke out during lunchtime between a transgender student who was “born male” and a female student.

The video, which went viral on social media, showed the transgender student towering over the girl during the brawl. The two students have reportedly fought before.

The unnamed transgender student was also accused of showing “his genitals” in the girls’ locker room.

MLK student Aiden Vermeir told KTTV that the trans student had been allowed to use the girls’ locker room and restrooms on campus.

“He spit on my friends that are girls, females. He shows his genitals in the locker room,” Vermeir stated.

During a school board meeting last week, Simpkins accused members of the board of failing to protect female students and jeopardizing their safety by allowing biological males in female spaces.

“There was an incident within our district that occurred recently regarding a transgender woman, who really is a biological man, having an altercation with a young woman at MLK High School,” Simpkins stated.

“It was infuriating when I had seen the video on social media, but what was detrimental to this is the fact that this man is and has been using the women’s restroom and locker room,” she added.

Simpkins questioned why people are “affirming the mental confusion of this boy and putting the safety of women in jeopardy by allowing mentally confused men to use women’s spaces.”

“Of course, any male who claims he is a woman will accept it, but what about the women? What about the true girls like myself who are females down to our DNA? Why don’t we ever get a say in whether or not we are comfortable with this?” she continued.

“The truth is we aren’t, the majority of us aren’t, and yet nothing has been done to protect the safety of these women. I will conclude with this: It all starts with you. You are in charge of the safety of us women,” Simpkins added.

The high schooler urged the board to “do something about it.”

The Riverside Unified School District released a statement addressing the altercation between the two students and the safety concerns.

“Since the incident occurred, District staff has been working to ensure the safety and rights of all students are considered and promptly responded to. We are able to verify that the student involved will no longer be attending King High School,” the district said in part.
