Hollywood mansion worth millions gets trashed by squatters: 'F*** rich people'
August 11, 2023
A Hollywood Hills mansion worth more than $10 million was trashed by squatters who spray-painted messages and left feces all over the home.
The condition of the home was discovered after neighbors called police on Thursday after they heard screams of distress from a woman inside the mansion.
Police arrived and detained three individuals. They claimed that they had been hired by a realtor to get squatters out of the property and clean it up for sale or lease. When KTLA-TV reached out to the realtor of the property, they said none of the three people were supposed to have been there.
Videos showed that squatters had spray-painted messages like "SEX" and "f*** rich people" inside. KTLA reported that there were debris and feces left all over the property. Much of the furniture was thrown over balconies into pools below.
Residents of the wealthy neighborhood were upset about the crime from squatters, but they did not want to appear on camera to voice their concerns.
“I didn’t know it was going on. I’m just finding out,” said one neighbor to KTLA. “It doesn’t make me too happy. It makes me aware of my surroundings a little bit more.”
Another neighbor said that the trio removed from the property had been squatting there for several days.
The 11,000-square-foot “Villa Allegra” was designed by architect Richard Tuil and included two gourmet kitchens and a home theater. The mansion was last sold for $6.9 million in 2013 and was once listed for $10 million.
“This kind of call is not unusual for Hollywood, honestly,” said a spokesperson for the LAPD.
In 2022, a man barricaded himself in the mansion with his dog after allegedly pointing a shotgun at a person before the LAPD was able to arrest him.
