Homeowner confronts pair who allegedly are breaking into cars. One reportedly points gun at homeowner — who's also armed — and suspects receive painful payback.

A Georgia homeowner confronted pair of individuals who allegedly were breaking into cars last week in DeKalb County — and after one reportedly pointed a gun at the homeowner, who also was armed, the two suspects got some painful payback.

What are the details?

DeKalb County police told WSB-TV that officers received reports at 2:35 a.m. Aug. 28 of a person shot on Leicester Way SE.

When officers arrived, they found two people who had been shot, the station said. Police believe the pair were breaking into cars when a homeowner confronted them, WSB said.

But when one of the suspects raised a gun and pointed it at the homeowner, the homeowner shot both suspects, the station said.

Police said the homeowner is not facing charges at this time, WSB added.

The two suspects were stable at a hospital, the station said, adding their identities hadn't been released.

WSB added that charges are pending for their arrests.

Anything else?

One observer on social media called out the foolishness of the suspect who reportedly pointed a gun at the homeowner: "Classic mistake, thinking the gun is a magic wand that will scare anybody you point it at into obeying you."
