LISTEN: Hot mic catches Joy Reid drop F-bomb while Biden is speaking: 'Starting another f***ing war'

MSNBC host Joy Reid unwittingly dropped an F-bomb on a hot mic on the Monday edition of her show.

During a segment titled, "Republicans take credit for stuff they voted against," Reid slammed Republicans for opposing a bill that supposedly would help the border crisis. Biden has used that opposition as a pretext to claim that Republicans are not serious about fixing the crisis, telling supporters in South Carolina over the weekend that he would take immediate action on the border only if Congress passes that bill.

While producers played a clip of Biden speaking, Reid's mic was turned on.

"Starting another f***ing war," Reid said before the mic was turned off.

It's not immediately clear what or who Reid was referring to, though it's unlikely the comment was related to the battle over the immigration bill.

Rather, the big topic of discussion in Washington on Monday was the drone attack that killed three American soldiers over the weekend. U.S. officials say Iran-backed militants were responsible for the attack, and Biden is facing growing pressure to retaliate. Biden, indeed, has promised to respond, presumably with military action.

It would make sense that Reid was referring to Biden's vow and the growing pressure for him to take military action against Iran, which risks drawing the U.S. into a bigger conflict in the Middle East.

Progressive Democrats, of course, are already critical of how Biden has helped Israel in its war against Hamas.

Reid acknowledged her hot-mic moment at the end of the show. She offered viewers an apology but no explanation.

"Before we go, I just want to apologize very quickly," she said. "I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know, we try to keep this show very PG-13, so I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my 'behind-the-scenes' chatter. I deeply, deeply apologize for that."
