Mugger beats woman with weighted sock inside NYC elevator multiple times — all for just $25

A woman was beaten and robbed by a man who may have been posing as a UPS worker while inside an elevator in Manhattan, according to police.

Local news outlet WABC-TV New York reported that a man used a sock that was filled with multiple objects to assault a woman in a building near 27th Street and 3rd Avenue in Kips Bay, in New York City.

The man was carrying a UPS package and a book bag and attacked the 26-year-old woman while she was getting off the elevator. He pulled the victim back into the elevator and beat her "multiple times," striking her in the back of the head with a "sock filled with an unknown object," police stated.

The mugger took $25 from the woman's wallet.

The man in a grey cap and a black outfit fled on a bicycle, according to the victim. The woman was treated at Bellevue Hospital, where she was listed as in stable condition, according to the New York Post.

Crime in the Big Apple is reaching farther into everyday life, as just days before, a man was arrested after allegedly stabbing two people with scissors outside the famous Magnolia Bakery in New York City's West Village.

Breitbart reported that a 911 call was made just before 10 a.m. following a suspect allegedly slashing one 24-year-old man in the arm and wounding another man in the neck. Both were reported in stable condition.

Meanwhile, the city continues to drown in a sea of mass migrant arrivals, who were captured on camera rushing the doors of the famous Roosevelt Hotel.

Hundreds more migrants were spotted sleeping on the street outside due to the lack of hotel vacancies across the city.

At the same time, local officials have ensured the end of plastic utensils being used in the suffering city.

New York City passed a "skip the stuff" law earlier this year that prohibited "restaurants, third-party food delivery services, and courier services from providing eating utensils, napkins, condiment packets, and extra food and beverage containers to customers with their take-out and delivery orders, unless specifically requested."

The law went into effect on July 31, 2023.
