Members of the pro-life movement took to the streets of Philadelphia in protest of a pro-abortion Pennsylvania lawmaker's behavior toward peaceful demonstrators just days before.

In just a few days, pro-life groups and activists put together the "Rally Against Bullying," which took place at the same Planned Parenthood location where Pennsylvania state Rep. Brian Sims (D) posted a video of himself harassing an "old white lady" praying and another video where he offered a cash reward for personal information on teenagers. (Sims later defended his actions in another video.)

"I'm grateful that we are not merely complaining right now," conservative writer Matt Walsh told attendees. "No, we decided to do something, we responded. We are engaging on the issue in the real world. I hope we continue this.

"We are saying to the pro-life activists that they are not alone and that we are with them," Walsh added. "We can't just be pro-life in our minds, we have to live that truth — to bring that truth out into the real world."

Former Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson — the inspiration for the recent pro-life movie "Unplanned" — also spoke at the event.

"I don't know that I've ever seen a man that needs Jesus more than that man right there," Johnson said of her reaction to the videos of Sims' harassment.

"And we're going to pray for him," Johnson added about Sims. "But you know what else? We're going to stand up; we are not going to continue to be bullied.

"I am sick of this idea that just because we are Christians, we can not stand up and defend ourselves — that we cannot stand up and defend our unborn brothers and sisters," Johnson continued. "We are going to stand up: We will continue to speak up day after day after day."

During the rally, Live Action founder and President Lila Rose also encouraged the pro-lifers in attendance to stand up for the unborn by coming out to pray on sidewalks outside clinics, if they haven't done so already.

"Get the training, get the preparation that you need ... even just to pray for an hour ... we need you," Rose said.

"We will keep coming out," Rose said in her closing remarks. "We will not back down to intimidation. We will continue to come out to pray on the sidewalks."
