Here's what will happen with the K-9 partner of Ronil Singh, the police officer murdered by an illegal alien

'I will not take another member of that family from them'
The four-legged partner of Newman, California, Police Officer Ronil Singh, who was murdered last week while on duty, is retiring.
What are the details?
The pup, known as K-9 Sam, was with Singh Dec. 26 when police say Gustavo Perez Arriaga — a 32-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico — opened fire on Singh, killing him, during a routine traffic stop.
Newman Police Chief Randy Richardson said at a news conference last week that Sam will remain with Singh's widow and 5-month-old son as the family dog.
"Sam is already back home, with the Singh family, where Sam belongs," Richardson said, according to Blue Lives Matter. "I will not take another member of that family from them."
During the news conference, Richardson said Singh, 33, had dressed Sam in a Mrs. Claus outfit "to bring smiles to people's faces." The police chief said Singh likely would have enjoyed conducting a narcotics search with Sam in her Christmas outfit.
"He probably would've thought it was funny," Richardson said. "It's just the kind of guy he was."
According to social media postings, Sam is 6 years old.
