He was allegedly shot during a physical altercation with officers

An Oklahoma teen was fatally shot Monday by police after running naked through a neighborhood, breaking into a house, and getting in a physical altercation with the officers pursuing him, according to KFOR-TV.

Isaiah Lewis, 17, was shot and killed by Edmond Police after an extended pursuit that ended in the home of a complete stranger, which Lewis inexplicably broke into.

Police were initially called by a neighbor after a food delivery driver witnessed Lewis and his girlfriend Kamri Pollock arguing at the front door. The driver began screaming for someone to call 911, which Pollack says she did not want, although she did say Lewis had "flipped out" and was acting strangely at her house.

"I don't think they [police] needed to get involved at all," Pollock told KFOR. "Like when the neighbor was on the phone with them, I tried to stay calm and tried to take her phone from her and she was like, 'No don't take my phone from me.'"

Authorities suspect Lewis may have been on some kind of drugs. Paraphernalia was found nearby.

After the argument, Lewis reportedly fled and stripped off his clothes. Edmond Police pursued him for about an hour as he hopped fences and ran through backyards, before eventually catching up to him in the home Lewis broke into.

The pursuing officers, Sgt. Milo Box and Officer Denton Scherman, said they were "violently assaulted" when they entered the home. One of them shot Lewis with a taser, which allegedly did not slow Lewis down. At some point, one of the officers fired shots, hitting Lewis.

Lewis was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead on arrival. He was set to graduate from high school this month. One of the officers sustained minor injuries, and both of them have been placed on administrative leave.

Lewis' mother, Vicki, is seeking answers to why her son was killed.

"He doesn't get to graduate on May 18 like he could have," Vicki Lewis said. "He didn't go to the prom. He didn't get his driver's license. There are a whole lot of firsts that he got to miss and I don't get to see him for the rest of his life, for the rest of my life."
